Many innovative ideas for food and agri-sector at F&A Next 2017

Published on
April 14, 2017

As many as 126 startups registered to pitch their innovative idea for the food & agri sector during F&A Next 2017. That is more than double the number of registrations at the previous edition of F&A Next in 2016.

The top twenty of ideas will be presented during the major food & agri-startup event on 17 and 18 May at Wageningen campus. A team of expert judges will decide beforehand which startups may pitch to an audience of investors, industry leaders, media and entrepreneurs. In addition to the pitch sessions, startups and investors will also get the chance to meet each other during corporate presentations, at network moments and in one-on-one talks. You can still register for this event.

Judges
The selected twenty startups compete for People’s Choice, Judges’ Choice, or the Highly-Commended Award. The judges are:
Kevin Camphuis; early innovator and founder of ShakeUpFactory in Paris, a business and open innovation accelerator dedicated to foodtech;
Bram Kanstein:
builder and launcher of Startup Stash and ‘Startupwatcher’, helping big companies to navigate the landscape of innovation;
Bruno Melcher: manager of a Brazilian farming operation in soybeans and corn and involved in the production and risk management of several commodities in Brazil;
Amir Zaidman: business developer for early-stage investment organizations including a VC-fund and technology incubators. And VP Business Development at The Kitchen – FoodTech Hub.

Programme
This year’s F&A Next focuses on two themes: a smarter way of producing more food with less ecological impact, and the interaction between food and health. There will be discussions on the transition to ‘smart farming’ and the food industry’s influence on tackling the problem of obesity.
